About us: Westminster Presbyterian Church of Elgin, Illinois is a member church of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
About the role: We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to work alongside our Treasurer and Finance Committee. You will play a vital role in managing financial records and ensuring the accuracy of our financial data. You will assist in month-end closing, making journal entries, running monthly financial reports, accounts payable, payroll, and tracking contributions.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain accurate financial records
· Accounts Payable - Prepare and process invoices and payments
· Assist in annual budgeting
· Assist in generating monthly financial reports and statements
· Assist in processing semi-monthly payroll
· Deposits and tracking weekly contributions
· Periodic special projects related to finances of the church
Qualifications:
- A committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and is a participant in a local church
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially a proficiency in Excel
- Experience working in a financial accounting software
- 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience required
Job Types: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10-15 hours per week
