Brief Description
Westminster Canterbury Richmond is seeking a part-time member of our Foundation team who will help develop and execute a strategy to increase awareness of and applications to our Fellowship Program for lower income seniors. Fellowship has provided housing, meals, healthcare and other benefits to more than 600 Richmond-area seniors since 1975 and is the founding mission of Westminster Canterbury Foundation. Funding for the program is provided largely through gifts to Westminster Canterbury Foundation, and referrals to the program are often sought from partners such as faith communities and civic organizations. We are seeking a community-minded professional who will deepen connections with existing partners and establish new partnerships to increase applications to the program, work with internal and external stakeholders to identify barriers to program entry and conduct research with peer communities into trends in similar programs. Position will work closely with a mission-focused, goal-oriented team dedicated to providing the best life possible for our residents and cultivating leadership in senior services. This is a part time ~16 hour per week position based in our offices on our beautiful Northside Richmond campus. Periodic travel to community partners may be required.

Requirements
MAJOR ACCOUNTABIITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Work with existing community partners to strengthen ties and increase awareness of the Fellowship Program.
- Identify and contact new community partners (e.g.: faith communities and civic organizations) who may serve or interface with potential Fellowship applicants.
- Work collaboratively and constructively with internal stakeholders including Foundation, Sales, Marketing, and Social Work teams to identify barriers to program entry and develop strategies to overcome those barriers.
- Conduct research with regional Life Care communities into trends in Benevolent Care programs like Fellowship.
- Conduct research into area senior care programs that may offer alternatives to Fellowship to determine similar and/or competing products and services.
- Arrange speaking engagements for Westminster Canterbury Richmond staff to educate community partners about Fellowship.
- Educate new and existing community partners about Fellowship through presentations and other methods.
- As a member of the Resource Development Division, work to ensure that the goals and methods of the annual Foundation Philanthropy Plan and Strategic Plan are carried out effectively.
- Assist with department special events and activities as needed, including occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.

- Ability to sit, reach, stand, bend, walk for periods of time depending on daily requirements
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance, 26 with manual or mechanical assistance
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone and in writing with a variety of people, including community leaders, co-workers, and older adults
- Ability to speak effectively and persuasively to large or small groups
- Ability to cultivate relationships
- Ability to interact and deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, volunteers, visitors and general public
- Ability to travel to community partners within 50 miles of Westminster Canterbury Richmond
- Valid Driver’s License in the State of Virginia with a minimum age 21 to drive for the organization
- Motor Vehicle Driving Record satisfactory to the Agency and its insurance providers
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Teams
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience in public speaking to groups of varying sizes
- Experience working with older adults
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two years directly related work experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience working in, or familiarity with, Richmond area community organizations such as faith communities and senior care agencies
