Schedule: Full Time, Night Shift - 7pm to 7am (12-hour shifts with weekend rotation)

The Clinical Supervisor, RN is responsible for oversight of daily nursing care in The Hoy Center including:

  • Direct managerial responsibilities of Hoy team members
  • Review and confirm that documentation by Team Leaders and CNAs is within the parameters of their position
  • Monitor effective time management including managing overtime
  • Responsible to address performance challenges
  • Assist the units as needed
  • Ensure that all opportunities for engagement with residents are utilized by the Team Leader and team members in the unit.
  • Manage team member to resident engagement, resident to resident engagement, team member to team member engagement, team member to family engagement. Work closely with DON and the Lighthouse Engagement Team members to ensure regulatory compliance, while focusing on person-centered care.

What You'll Do In This Role

  • Support and demonstrate practices consistent with the mission, philosophy, standards, policies and procedures of the Westminster-Canterbury community.
  • Lead and Manage Team Leaders, RNs, LPNS and CNAs.
  • Delegate clinical responsibilities to team leaders on each unit. Team Leaders will manage all team members assigned to their unit and shift and allocate nursing staff accordingly in The Hoy Center.
  • Monitor nursing team members in The Hoy Center ensuring compliance with community policies and procedures. Ensures Team members in The Hoy Center are following all current policies and procedures for The Hoy Center and WCCB, and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Confirm that practices are consistent with regulatory requirements in LTC and Skilled Care.
  • Communicate concerns, collaborate with Team Leaders, and complete performance evaluations of assigned team members on their assigned shift.
  • Appropriately communicate problems, concerns and needs to other departments.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing regarding any disciplinary actions prior to presenting to the team member.
  • Hold all Team Leaders accountable to complete any needed items pertaining to occurrences/incidents during that shift. Such items consist of notifying provider/POA, entering any new orders into PCC correctly, complete and accurate progress note, updates to care plan, and follows up with clinical assessments for accuracy prior to the end of the shift. Please see/refer incidents (falls/ discolorations/ skin issues, etc.) and occurrences protocol/ policy.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings (Risk, Process Meetings, QAPI) and holds the Team Leaders accountable to present accurate information during care conferences. This information should consist of current order updates and any care plan changes.
  • Ensure Team Leaders are discharging/transferring and planning according to departmental and community policies.
  • Identify staff development needs of team members and provides recommendations to the Director of Nursing.
  • Provide informal education to team members when deemed necessary.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to maintain competency and improve knowledge and skills.
  • Observe community protocol to prohibit abuse, and investigate allegations of abuse.
  • Represent the community and nursing services in professional and community activities as assigned.
  • Participate and assist with the survey process by regulatory agencies.
  • Provide written reports related to call bells, incidents, performance of all team members to the Director of Nursing.
  • Participate in and monitor Team Leaders to ensure appropriate assessments of residents are completed every shift.
  • Other duties as assigned by nursing leadership.

Required

The Experience You'll Bring

  • Current unencumbered RN license.
  • At least three years of clinical experience in long-term care.
  • At least three years supervisory or managerial experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Prior experience with timely and accurate completion of care plans, performing care activities appropriately, and recognizing changes in residents’ status.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Flu-Vaccinated

COVID-19 Vaccinated. As of now, the 2025–2026 COVID-19 vaccine formulation is being distributed to providers and pharmacies; however, it has not yet received official approval from the CDC. In Virginia, pharmacists may administer COVID-19 vaccines under the Virginia Board of Pharmacy’s statewide protocols or with a direct order from a licensed medical provider. We encourage all new hires to consult with their healthcare provider regarding the most current vaccination recommendations. Please be aware that, depending on future CDC guidance or regulatory updates, we may require proof of the most recent COVID-19 vaccination as part of our ongoing commitment to health and safety.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to climb or descend 3 flights of stairs.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for a period of at least 4 hours.
  • May be required to assist in the lift, turns of residents.
  • Must be able to perform frequent/regular walking rounds throughout the shift for the purpose of ensuring all team members are providing quality resident care at all times in The Hoy Center.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation Range: $45.00 - $48.00 (based on relevant experience)
