As a Campus Safety and Security Officer, you will help create a safe, welcoming, and reassuring environment for residents, family members, team members, guests, and visitors throughout our waterfront campus. This highly visible role combines resident service, emergency response, access control, security technology, patrol, incident documentation, parking enforcement, and basic building-systems awareness. Officers are often the first point of contact for visitors and among the first to respond to medical, fire, security, severe-weather, elevator, and community-related emergencies. Success in this role requires sound judgment, calm communication, and careful observation. Always model our core values of respect, passion, and professionalism, and hold others accountable for doing the same.

  • Follow campus emergency and disaster plans for hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, bomb threats, and other emergencies.
  • Identify and report safety violations, suspicious activity, hazards, and mechanical problems; complete clear and accurate incident reports, shift logs, and required documentation.
  • Enforce parking policies and manage violations, including warnings, citations, vehicle immobilization, and towing when authorized.
  • Use portable radios professionally, follow established call signs and communication procedures, and promptly contact supervisors or key maintenance personnel when needed.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of boilers, chillers, pumps, emergency generators, and related gauges; record assigned temperature and pressure readings and carry out only approved emergency start or stop procedures.
  • Follow established elevator-entrapment procedures, maintain communication with those involved, and coordinate the appropriate internal and emergency response.
  • Perform minor maintenance or operational support duties when assigned and within training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
