What You'll Do
Leadership & Operations
- Implement and maintain policies established by the Board of Directors and Community Support Services offices
- Uphold organizational standards and ensure fulfillment of all contractual obligations to residents, including entrance fee and continuing care agreements
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including AHCA licensure requirements, state Life Plan Community/CCRC statutes, and CMS quality standards where applicable
- Maintain survey readiness and support continuous quality improvement across all levels of care
Team & Department Leadership
- Select, develop, evaluate, and lead a cross-functional leadership team — including Nursing/Health Services, Dining and Nutrition Services, Life Enrichment/Activities, Plant Operations and Maintenance, Marketing and Sales, and Social Services/Resident Care Coordination in partnership with Community Support Services Directors/Coordinators.
- Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of community staff, including hiring, training, performance management, and resolving team member concerns
- Foster a culture that supports retention and engagement in a competitive senior living labor market
Financial & Business Operations
- Recommend and manage the annual capital and operational budget, following Community Support Services accounting procedures
- Monitor budget performance, occupancy trends, and revenue cycle health; submit monthly variance reports and approve major purchases and invoices
- Apply Life Plan/CCRC business acumen — understanding entrance fee models, reserve requirements, and actuarial considerations unique to Life Plan Community operations
Resident & Community Engagement
- Serve as a positive liaison between residents, resident council, community staff, and Community Support Services teams
- Champion person-centered, aging-in-place philosophies that honor resident choice and independence across the continuum
- Maintain community grounds and physical properties in excellent condition to support residents' quality of life
- Build strong relationships with local community groups, agencies, and organizations to support community engagement and philanthropic partnerships
What You Bring
Education: Bachelor's degree in a health-related or business field required; Master's degree preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of successful management experience in the retirement/senior living industry, preferably within a multi-facility or CCRC/Life Plan Community organization
- Current Florida Nursing Home Administrator's License, or ability to obtain one promptly
- Familiarity with AHCA survey processes and CCRC regulatory requirements preferred
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong ability to motivate and communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff across multiple levels of care
- Comfortable reading and interpreting financial statements, occupancy reports, and CCRC-specific financial models
- Self-motivated with a proven ability to set and achieve goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to leadership, boards, and community groups
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to interpret complex data and technical information
- Resilient and adaptable under pressure, with the ability to navigate the mental and emotional demands of a dynamic senior living leadership role
- Genuine passion for the aging services mission and improving the lived experience of older adults
