Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Diesel Mechanic Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment and vehicles, including farm machinery and heavy trucks. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using OEM schematics and automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to meet specific operational needs.
- Replace or repair components including brake systems, transmissions and tires while adhering to safety protocols.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repair procedures or testing phases; perform heavy lifting as required for component removal or installation.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed; ensure all work complies with specifications and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician in a dealership or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
- Experience working with heavy machinery such as farm machinery, heavy duty trucks or similar equipment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of OEM parts specifications and vehicle maintenance best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation; able to communicate technical information clearly.
