Custodial Worker (Janitor)

Pay: $20.78 per hour total — $15.36/hr base wage plus $5.42/hr Health & Welfare fringe benefit (paid in accordance with the Service Contract Act, DOL Wage Determination 2015-5315)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts; Federal holidays are workdays on this contract

Openings: Approximately 26 positions across four locations

About the Role

We are hiring custodial workers to clean and maintain VA healthcare facilities in Oklahoma. You will keep patient-care and public areas of a medical center or outpatient clinic clean, sanitary, and safe in accordance with VA standards. Positions are available on the following shifts:

• Oklahoma City VA Medical Center (921 NE 13th St) — Day tour, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
• Oklahoma City VA Medical Center — Evening tour, 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.
• Lawton VA Clinics (Fort Sill) — 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
• Stillwater VA Clinic (320 N Perkins Ave) — 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

What You'll Do

• Clean patient rooms, exam rooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas: sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and empty trash
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces using hospital-approved products and infection-control procedures
• Restock restroom and dispenser supplies and report maintenance issues
• Perform periodic floor care, including buffing, burnishing, and carpet extraction
• Follow all safety, security, and privacy rules that apply inside a VA medical facility

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Ability to pass a Federal background investigation and obtain a VA facility badge
• Reliable attendance and the ability to work an assigned fixed shift, including Federal holidays
• Ability to stand and walk for a full shift and lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred:

• Custodial or housekeeping experience, especially in a hospital, clinic, or other healthcare setting
• Familiarity with bloodborne-pathogen and infection-control practices

Compensation & Benefits

• $15.36/hr base wage $5.42/hr Health & Welfare fringe = $20.78/hr total compensation
• Paid vacation and holiday benefits in accordance with the Service Contract Act wage determination
• Uniforms and required training provided, including bloodborne pathogens and safety certifications

Additional Information

This position is contingent upon award of a Federal contract to Westlamb-HamHed JV, LLC. Anticipated start date is on or about September 1, 2026. Employment offers will be extended upon contract award.
