Preventative Mechanical Maintenance Technician duties include but are not limited to:
Primary duties are to perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment, fire extinguisher inspection, crane inspections and all documentation required by ISO regulations.
Performs a variety of preventative maintenance tasks including all of the following mechanical, electrical, pipe fitting and welding. Ability to perform installation of both electrical and mechanical parts, ability to troubleshoot electrical and/or mechanical problems, diagnose and maintain repairs of plant equipment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machines and mechanical equipment located in the various divisions of our manufacturing facility (such as Extruders, Mokon Units, Brake/Pullers, ETC).
- Perform scheduled maintenance routines to identify and correct mechanical and electrical defects before they fail.
- Ensure proper operation of plant machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing equipment.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, hand and power tools.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Maintains continuity among Operations by communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs of the various equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance of an office environment (such as changing light bulbs and moving and/or arranging furniture such as desks and computers as needed)
- Ability to perform troubleshooting tasks both electrical and mechanical.
- Ability to use multi-meter, megohmmeter, infrared thermography camera, calibration testers and tools.
- Ability to use and complete CMMS work orders and PMs.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-3 years minimum experience in a mechanical role, preferably, in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Must have experience troubleshooting, installing, aligning, dismantling, repairing and maintaining large industrial machines and mechanical equipment for improved reliability.
- Able to troubleshoot issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Relevant degrees and/or certifications are preferred.
