West Group Logistics (WGL) Stockton, CA is a division of Total Transportation Services (TTSI) that provides Regional, Logistics, and Supply Chain Solutions. We are leading the way in California Compliance, Customer Service, and State-of-the-Art Technology.
Position Summary:
The Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative is responsible for coordinating and dispatching customer loads for on-time pickup/delivery. Ensure that data is timely & accurately entered into company's TMS. Maintain communication with team members to verify and resolve customer and/or service issues.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Managing and tracking multiple customers and their containers.
- Trace and Track containers on terminal websites to ensure containers are picked up prior to the last free day.
- Ensure that Exports are picked up and returned to the terminals before the cut date. Monitor 1st receiving and cut dates to ensure bookings haven’t rolled.
- Provide daily status updates to customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform accurate data entry or system upload into our TMS system (McLeod) per Bill of Lading or DO.
- Coordinate pick-up and deliveries with company drivers, LMCs, terminals, and customers.
- Monitor driver activities to ensure on time pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain dispatch system accuracy in real time; ensure completed work is updated properly in the system, including but not limited to proper dates, destinations, and appointments.
- Monitor and update all load status and/or progress in dispatch system, including verifying completion of assigned moves.
- Maintaining a good working relationship with the drivers (driver retention).
- Update TMS (McLeod) with accessorial charges such as terminal waiting time, Split Terminations, Stop offs, etc.)
- Pre-plan logistics in an efficient manner to keep costs down.
Other Functions:

· Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
· 2 to 4 years' experience in Transportation, Dispatch, or similar role
· 1 year of Oakland Port Dispatching required.
- Knowledge of McLeod systems preferred
· Customer Service Experience
· General Transportation Industry Knowledge (Acronyms, Agencies, Regulations)
· Familiar with DOT regulations
· Excellent communication skills (written & oral)
- Ability to work in a team environment in high-pressure situations
- Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to identify root cause issues and trends
Skills :
· Must have 1-2 years’ experience with Motor Carrier
· Ability to handle large volume ofPhone calls
· Able to navigate through various database platforms
· Microsoft Office Suite: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
· Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication
· Self-motivated, team player with a “can-do-attitude”
· Dispatch experience
Working Conditions:
· Must be able to occasionally lift as much as ten (10) lbs.
· May be required to sit and review information on a computer screen for long periods of time
· May require repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
