Job Description

As the Director of Group Sales, you’ll lead the strategy and execution of group business at one of Utah’s premier resorts. You’ll focus on corporate, SMERF, government, and association markets, building lasting relationships and driving revenue across rooms, meetings, and events.

This is a dynamic, people-centered role where you’ll combine strategic thinking, hospitality expertise, and hands-on leadership to grow business, mentor your team, and elevate the Westgate brand.

What You'll Do as a Director of Group Sales:

  • Achieve group sales goals and drive revenue across key market segments.
  • Source, negotiate, and close new group business while maintaining existing client relationships.
  • Develop creative sales strategies and marketing initiatives to increase market share.
  • Collaborate with operations and catering teams to ensure seamless execution of group events.
  • Represent the resort at tradeshows, networking events, and client meetings.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities.
  • Lead, train, and motivate the Account Manager to meet departmental objectives.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3 years of hotel sales management experience, preferably in group or event sales.
  • Proven success in budgeting, forecasting, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, group sales cycles, and hospitality standards.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/sales management software.
