Sr. Claims Specialist/Claim Manager

We are seeking talented and enthusiastic individuals to proactively investigate, manage and/or oversee Commercial First Party claims.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for a pending claim inventory of middle market, primary, and excess First-Party Property claims from first notice through resolution. Examine claims forms, policies, and other records, including manuscript coverage forms, to determine loss amounts as covered by the applicable policy.
  • Assist in overseeing a buildings risk program handled by an outside TPA.
  • Guide other adjusters from various market carriers to move claims towards resolution.
  • Work with and manage outside vendors.
  • Handle claims in accordance with Claim Handling Best Practices in all phases of the claim including through initial contact, investigation of the claim, evaluation of the claim for coverage and reserving for exposure, and in the resolution and documentation of claims.
  • Review and evaluate policies to determine coverage.
  • Work closely with underwriting and other partners to review, analyze, and communicate claim trends and help develop policy language.
  • Attend and speak at industry events.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of ten (10) plus years handling large commercial first-party claims involving various lines of coverage such as building, business income, increased cost of construction, flood, and more.
  • Experience with inland marine, builder's risk, quota share/excess first-party participation losses preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree, or commensurate experience and training.
  • Industry designations preferred (CPCU, AIS, AIC, etc.).
  • Candidates will be required to obtain and maintain insurance adjuster licenses.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
