Job Title:
Metrologist and Quality Technician
Summary of Purpose
The Metrologist and Quality Technician is responsible for assisting and supporting the manufacturing process and the manufacturing personnel by ensuring that proper production, inspection, gaging, containment, and certification processes are followed, with the goal of preventing the escape of nonconforming parts from reaching the next operation or escaping to the customer. The Quality Technician will ensure conformity to blueprint, customer specific requirements, and internal procedures, as well as IATF 16949:2016 requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Program Hexagon Arm (CMM) in PolyWorks Software using probe or scan method, inspect parts and fixtures using CMM and create inspection reports.
· Interpreting internal or external prints, drawings, specifications, customer specific requirements (Supplier Quality Manuals) and standards.
· Develop, prepare, and maintain inspection and test reports for review.
· Perform regular inspections of incoming materials (raw material, components etc.), in-process inspections, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
· Support with submission of PPAP to customers including but not limited to the development of Control Plans, PFMEAs, Flow Charts, evaluation of gage methodologies and dimensional verification of products.
· Conduct Manufacturing Process Audits
· Maintain calibration of Quality Control Equipment and traceability of equipment
· Responsible for updating various Key Performance Indicators (M4DI, Scrap Report)
· Develop and assist with corrective and preventive actions for products and processes.
· Assist in the investigation of quality issues, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures.
· Train personnel in new and established standards, procedures, and work instructions.
· Conduct outgoing shipment dock audits.
· Development of visual standards as needed including providing representative defect samples.
· Conduct SPC, Gage R&R and statistical analysis for process and product improvements.
· Special assignments as required.

Minimum Requirements
· High School Diploma or equivalent required
· Previous minimum 1 year experience in a quality-related role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in an IATF16949 registered
· Experience measuring parts with CMM and familiarity with PolyWorks software.
· Proficiency in using computer software applications, such as Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
