What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Therapist position at Western Wisconsin Health?
Western Wisconsin Health is seeking a full-time Mental Health Therapist (1.0 FTE) to join our Behavioral Health department. This position serves a wide array of patient concerns and collaborates with medical staff to support the organization’s mission and values.
This position will provide psychotherapeutic services to school-aged children through our School-Based Mental Health Program (two days per week in Pierce County school districts) and provide services at our Spring Valley Clinic location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Completes assessments, develops treatment plans, and delivers accepted, evidence-based therapeutic procedures to assist patients with their presenting complaints;
- Documents interventions in the electronic medical record, including intake or diagnostic assessment, progress notes, treatment plan, 90-day reviews, as well as a discharge summary when a patient completes care;
- Collaborates with colleagues and develops positive working relationships with medical and support staff;
- Demonstrates awareness, understanding and respect of cultural diversity and patients of all ages and socioeconomic groups; and
- Other duties as assigned.
