Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Billing Manager to lead and optimize our revenue cycle operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the full billing lifecycle, ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement, managing claims and denials, and maintaining compliance with all healthcare regulations.
This is a key leadership role partnering closely with the Practice Manager, providers, and front office team to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end revenue cycle management: charge capture, claims submission, payment posting, A/R, refunds and collections
- Monitor, analyze, and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments
- Ensure compliance with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, Medicare, commercial payer guidelines and ACO’s
- Manage and optimize workflows within eClinicalWorks (eCW)
- Generate and review reports on A/R aging, collections, and reimbursement trends
- Develop and implement billing policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements using data analysis and technology solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to improve documentation and reduce billing errors
- Serve as the primary resource for billing-related questions and patient inquiries
- Stay current on payer policies, regulatory changes, and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of medical billing/revenue cycle experience (required)
- Hands-on experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) (required)
- CPC or other billing/coding certification (required)
- Strong knowledge of physician billing, ideally in primary care
- Experience managing claims from submission through payment and appeals
- Proficiency in Medicare, and commercial payer billing
- Solid understanding of coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Preferred:
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience
- Experience in a primary care or outpatient setting
