3 years of veterinary technician experience Active and good-standing Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Nevada** Proficiency in the following skills:
Fairground Animal Hospital (the biggest little clinic in Reno!) offers a wide range of veterinary services from wellness exams and annual vaccines to dental care, soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, and urgent care. We have an in-house lab, digital x-ray, dental radiography, ultrasound, intra-oral camera, laser therapy and a paperless record system through Cornerstone. Additionally, we utilize high-grade anesthetic monitoring equipment, including doppler, capnography, ECG, and pulse oximetry.
We are a well-established and growing 4-doctor practice that is truly part of the Reno community. Our team includes 3 LVTs who are committed to ongoing learning and development. This is a good-faith estimate based on the role's requirements at the time of posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Include
- Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
- Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Assisting in surgery
- Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
- Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
- Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
- Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
Schedule And Compensation
- Compensation: $27 - $30 per hour, for each hour worked
- This is a full-time position with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday through Friday.
- Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of Nevada
- CE allowance: $500-$1,000 based on tenure and credentials
