Groomer

Animal Care Center of Carters Creek has a new opportunity for an animal lover to join our team as a Professional Groomer.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have prior professional grooming experience with a variety of dog breeds, coat types, and sizes. Ultimately we're looking for a top-notch Pet Groomer will treat all animals with the utmost love and care.

Schedule: This is a flexible full-time role. Weekend coverage is needed, but we offer flexibility - groomers may choose to work either every Saturday or every other Saturday.

You Are Responsible For All Grooming Services Including

• De-matting and detangling hair as required.
• Bathing, conditioning, and drying pets.
• Trimming pets' nails, brushing their teeth, and cleaning their ears.
• Grooming and styling pets according to pet owners' instructions or standard grooming styles.
• Accommodating special requests that pet owners may have.
• Identifying health issues in pets, such as ear infections, skin conditions, or tooth decay, and informing medical team of these observations.
• Ensuring that all pets are safe during the grooming process.
• Routinely cleaning work areas.
• Recommending suitable products to pet owners.
  
  

Groomers are expected to supply their own professional tools such as clippers, blades, shears, combs, brushes, and other preferred grooming equipment. Our hospital provides all bathing products, including shampoo, conditioner, and ear cleaner.

Minimum Qualifications And Skill Set

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Groomer Certification is not required but will be advantageous.
• Proven professional grooming experience required
• Skills & Strengths:
• A sound understanding of animal behavior
• The ability to stand for long periods of time
• The ability to lift heavy pets and equipment
• Treating all animals with care and compassion
• Excellent communication & customer service skills
