What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aerial Lineman position at Western Utility Contractors?
Job Overview
Western Utility Contractors is looking to hire a telecommunications:
- Foreman
- lineman
- Groundman
- Flagger
Preferably someone who live in/near the Eugene/Springfield area. These position will occasionally require travel and overnight stays in other areas within Oregon and Idaho.
Qualifications
- Must be in excellent physical condition with the ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- Willing to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions day or night
- Have a valid drivers license and clean driving record.
Ability to drive company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner
- Possess a flagging certificate or obtain one within 90 days of hire date (training provided)
- Must have the ability to be a critical thinking, work independent and well as a team, good time management skills and self-motivated.
- Hand and finger dexterity to carry and to use tools and equipment as necessary
- Ability to work while standing 80 - 90% of the time
- Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus; ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires
- Must be comfortable with heights. Max hight is 60 feet- this includes working out of a bucket truck
Ability to and or learn to climb telephone poles
- Safety focused setting up and maintaining safe work environments
- Must pass U/A Test
