These dealerships represent some of the best commercial truck brands including Peterbilt, Volvo, Mack, Autocar, and Hino and include locations in Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oregon, Tennessee, and Washington.

I. General Job Description

The Truck Detailer is responsible for cleaning, detailing, and maintaining the appearance of heavy-duty trucks to dealership standards. This role ensures trucks are presented in top condition for customer delivery, resale, or display, both inside and out. The Detailer performs a variety of tasks including washing, waxing, polishing, vacuuming, and interior sanitizing They also inspect vehicles for cleanliness, damage, or defects, and coordinate with the sales and service teams to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, has strong attention to detail, and follows all safety and environmental guidelines while maintaining equipment and work areas.

Responsibilities

• Clean and detail heavy-duty truck exteriors and interiors to dealership standards.
• Wash, wax, buff, and polish paint, aluminum, chrome, and wheels.
• Vacuum, shampoo, and sanitize interior surfaces, including sleeper berths.
• Pressure wash engine compartments, undercarriages, and frames.
• Apply protective coatings and remove surface imperfections.
• Inspect vehicles for cleanliness, damage, or defects during detailing.
• Maintain detailing tools, equipment, and supplies in safe working order.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and dealership guidelines.
• Support sales, service, and delivery teams with truck presentation needs.

II. Minimum Job Qualifications

• 18 years of age.
• High school graduate, GED, or 1 year of work experience.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment and a qualified MVR abstract.
• Ability to work independently without direct on-site supervision.
• Heavy-duty truck aptitude.
• Strong organization, communication, and phone skills.

III. Mental Capability Requirements

• Comprehension: Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral/written instructions and information.
• Organization: Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.
• Reasoning & Decision Making: Ability to apply common sense in performing job.
• Communication: Ability to understand follow basic instructions and guidelines.
• Mathematics: No mathematical ability is required.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level is normally loud.
