Full Job Description

Western Sweeping is a street sweeping based in the West Valley in the Phoenix Metro area. We are looking for a reliable and flexible sweeper truck operator. Start and end times are different each day depending on the job. We are an on-call business, so last minute changes are made to your schedule sometimes. We sweep in the entire state of AZ. We need you to have the ability to travel and be out of town overnights or the ability to be gone for long days. We may ask you to work on Saturdays as well.

Prior experience with a sweeper truck is not required as detailed training will be provided. We are a family owned and operated company that is growing and looking for a team that is motivated to be the best operators out there. Western Sweeping treats our operators like family and takes great pride in clean, well maintained trucks! This position has great long-term potential for growth within our company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Safely operates motorized maintenance/construction equipment on an assigned route.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance; make minor adjustments and repairs and report the need for major and minor mechanical repairs to mechanics. Interact with the public; respond to service requests; complete and submit vehicle inspection forms, and daily reports
• Follow oral and written instructions, assist with other duties, as required.

• Operating power and hand tools and motorized equipment and vehicles.
• Establishing and maintaining effective and cooperative working relationships with managers, supervisors, employees and the public.
• Using initiative, discretion and judgement within established procedures, guidelines and rules
• Managing situations requiring diplomacy, fairness, firmness and sound judgement
• Time management; attention to details
• Providing efficient and high quality customer service
• Communicating effectively, both verbally and written

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• All applicants must successfully pass pre-employment drug screen.
• All applicants will be asked to complete a background check prior to employment

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• City streets and traffic laws
• Safe work practices; safe operation of street sweepers and heavy equipment and vehicles
• Street sweeper/heavy equipment maintenance and repair methods and practices and/or ability to learn

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Drivers license required with minimum of 3 years experience.
• Acceptable driving record for the last 39 months

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
