A Day in the Life of a Cloud Architect in Cloud Platform Engineering
As a Senior Cloud Architect, you will drive and deliver architecture within the Cloud Platform team. You will drive architecture decisions and then deliver agreed upon decisions on the platforms. You will consult with application development teams on platform standards, deliver their platform components, and assist them with developing and deploying their applications in our Azure cloud platform. You will be involved in all levels of cloud platform management, architecture, design, development, and support. This is a hands on highly technical role for a driven individual. Experience in Azure cloud architecture design and development is required. Strong understanding of development is desired with and emphasis on C# or Java. The individual must be a strong analytical problem-solver with excellent presentation skills.
Key Tools & Skills You’ll Work With:
- Azure: Design, deploy, configure, and support Azure resources in a multi-region environment.
- Azure API Management: Configure, manage, and deploy APIs using Azure API Management.
- Terraform: Develop and deploy Azure resources using infrastructure as code.
- Azure DevOps: Use Azure DevOps for work tracking, source control, and deployment pipelines.
- Containers: Deploy Docker containers to Azure Container Apps.
- Elastic Cloud: Configure dashboards, monitors, and alerts to support observability.
- Confluent Kafka: Manage and configure Kafka environments to support event-driven solutions.
- MongoDB: Manage and configure MongoDB environments.
- Software Development: Develop production-level code in Terraform and other languages, with C# or Java experience preferred.
- Collaboration and Communication: Partner with application, infrastructure, security, and leadership teams; present architecture decisions and platform capabilities to technical and business audiences.
