Performance Physical Therapist

Western Slope Rehab and Performance
Grand Junction, CO Full Time
POSTED ON 8/3/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/1/2026

Physical Therapist | Sports & Orthopedics | Grand Junction, CO

Western Slope Rehab and Performance is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist for our outpatient sports and orthopedic caseload. We're a clinician-owned practice treating high school and collegiate athletes, post-surgical orthopedic patients, individuals after work and auto injuries, and active adults who want to get back to doing hard things. The anticipated start date for this position is mid-December 2026.

What the job actually looks like

  • 45-minute one-on-one treatment sessions. No double-booking, no techs running your plan of care. New grads start with 60-minute one-on-one treatment sessions.
  • Max of 50 patients/week at full caseload. Our current full-time therapists have averaged 45.5 patients/week this year.
  • Equipment you'll actually use: dual force plates, surface EMG, blood flow restriction, and a fully equipped strength floor.
  • Dry needling, IASTM, and PENS are all in regular use here.
  • Prompt EMR with Prompt Engage for home exercise programs and Prompt Sidekick for AI-assisted documentation
  • Bi-Weekly team case review and mentorship — protected time, not squeezed into lunch.
  • Execute high-level assessments and design custom performance tracks for active populations.
  • You'll coach barbell and Olympic lifting, plyometrics, and sprint mechanics — not just hand out sheets of exercises.

Schedule & Flexibility:

  • Full-time (36–40 hours/week).
  • Your choice: A consistent 4-day or 5-day work week.

Compensation & Premier Benefits

  • $86,000–$110,000 annually. Compensation is a base salary plus a productivity incentive; where an offer lands in that range depends on experience, certifications, and caseload. We'd rather talk through the specifics with you directly than publish a formula that doesn't fit every situation. Ask on the first call and we'll walk you through exactly how the base and incentive work, and what our current clinicians are actually earning.

Our Commitment to You:

  • Relocation Support: Specialized assistance for those moving to beautiful Western Colorado.
  • Professional Development: Annual CE stipend ($1,000) plus regular in-house clinical mentorship.
  • Health & Wealth: ICHRA health coverage ($180/month), SIMPLE IRA retirement plan (up to 3%), and 2-3 weeks of PTO/year (negotiated as part of offer).
  • Team Culture: Monthly paid team-building meetings and a supportive, high-energy atmosphere.
  • Leadership Path: We're a small practice, so we won't promise you a management title that may not exist in two years. What we can commit to is real influence over how we treat: input on equipment, protocols, and which patient populations we grow into. We'd rather under-promise the leadership path than sell you on a ladder we haven't built yet.

Who You Are

The Essentials:

  • Qualified and able to obtain licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Colorado.
  • A background focused in sports medicine and orthopedic excellence.
  • Expertise in coaching athletic movements and strength training.
  • Sharp clinical documentation skills (Medicare standards).

The "Bonus" Points:

  • Existing certification in Dry Needling.
  • Active involvement or connections within the local athletic community.

New Grads:

  • We hire them, and this start date aligns with December graduations. Relevant rotations, a sports or ortho residency, or a strength and conditioning background all count. You'll start at 60-minute sessions with a reduced caseload while you ramp.

Next Steps:

If you are committed to clinical excellence and want to work with patients who are as motivated as you are, let’s talk.
