Position Overview
Western Reserve Logistics Group seeks a driven and relationship-focused Logistics Account Manager to build, manage, and grow a portfolio of shipping customers. This role is responsible for maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring flawless execution of freight movements, and identifying new business opportunities within existing accounts.

At WRLG, Logistics Account Managers are revenue drivers first. This role is built for individuals who thrive on winning new business, building a book from the ground up, and controlling their income through performance.
You will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing new shipping customers, then growing those relationships into long-term, high-value accounts.
Core Responsibilities
New Business Development (Primary Function)
- Aggressively prospect and generate new business through cold outreach, referrals, and industry networking
- Build and manage a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities
- Identify shippers with recurring freight needs and position WRLG as a strategic partner
- Lead sales conversations, present tailored logistics solutions, and close new accounts
- Negotiate pricing and service terms that drive both customer value and company margin
Account Ownership & Growth
- Take full ownership of newly acquired accounts from onboarding through long-term growth
- Develop strong, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers
- Continuously identify opportunities to expand share of freight spend
- Maintain a high level of service in coordination with internal operations
Carrier & Market Coordination
- Source and secure carrier capacity aligned with customer needs
- Negotiate competitive rates while maintaining margin expectations
- Stay informed on market trends, capacity shifts, and pricing dynamics
Customer Experience
- Deliver a high-touch, proactive service experience
- Anticipate customer needs and provide solutions before issues arise
- Maintain detailed account notes and CRM updates
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or supply chain
- Proven ability to manage customer relationships and grow accounts
- Strong understanding of transportation modes and market dynamics
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- Experience with TMS/CRM systems preferred
