Job Summary

Individuals in these temporary, part-time positions work with students in middle and high school. AVID tutors serve as excellent role models of motivated, organized, successful people who believe that AVID students can and will succeed.The tutors are people who work in a supportive manner with secondary students and are able to understand the delicate position they occupy. They are advocates of students, yet ultimately they are responsible to the teacher.

Requirements / Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a two-year Community College or a four-year college or university in order to model college enrollment for AVID students. An incomplete or unsigned application will not be considered. Attachments must be scanned and attached to the Ed-join application. Having trouble or need assistance with your application? Must be familiar and comfortable with Honors and AP classes at the High School level. Under the direction of the site administrator and/or AVID Program coordinator/teacher facilitates the Socratic method of tutoring for College-Preparatory reading, math, science, foreign language, and social science tutoring services to students enrolled in AVID classes. This is a one-year contracted position.
