What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager position at WESTERN PALLET SUPPLY & LOGISITICS LLC PALLET KING?
This is an onsite position. The Operations Manager will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of production, transportation, and logistics for the facility. Some of the KPIs include but are not limited to the following:
- Achieve and/or exceed daily production goals
- Meet or exceed On-time delivery requirements
- Accurate reporting of inventory
- Must achieve monthly Revenue and Profit goals
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate well with internal management and vendors
- Must follow all safe working practices at all times
- Ability to efficiently work independently of direct supervision
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Statistical programs)
- Keen understanding of COGS and Expense side of Profit & Loss statements
- Ability to formulate written communication through email.
- Ability to implement and maintain standard operating procedures.
Must have working knowledge and application of the following:
- Lean Manufacturing
- 5S
- Kaizen
- Six Sigma
Bilingual - English and Spanish a must
Job requirements:
- Develops minor operating, business, systems, and operational decisions, as required, to ensure that the depot is operating optimally and proficiently.
- Holds direct responsibility for managing productivity and cost efficiency by reviewing expenditures and overtime and meeting monthly Revenue and Profit goals.
- Review & utilize financial data to improve profitability by controlling departmental expenditures set by the General Manager.
- Manages change by anticipating and/or responding to developments within the depot and customer requirements.
- Improve processes and policies in support of operational goals.
- Managing customer relationships in a positive and professional manner.
- Coordinate and monitor the performance of various departments and implement improvements to ensure the quality of products. Provide technical support where necessary.
- Directly, and through delegation, coordinates activities required to assure optimum safety compliance, field/shop/office efficiency, reliability, and quality in accordance with established contracts, agreements, policies, and applicable regulatory laws and procedures.
- Ensure the correct implementation of all customer instructions; liaison with top management and assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity.
- Ensure that project quality and safety requirements are followed in accordance with Company and statutory requirements.
- Ability to coach and mentor team members by aligning with business needs.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to make sound, cost-effective judgments.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5 years of production, manufacturing, and logistics experience
- Prior leadership role in operations management
- Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, and procedures
- required.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices
- Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices
