Job Summary
The Vice President of Educational Services is responsible for the strategic direction and outcomes of the Educational Services initiatives of the College. The VP serves as the Chief Academic Officer (CAO), while assisting the President in the overall management of the College.

Institutional Functions :
- As a member of the Executive Planning Team (EPT), assist the President in the overall management activities of the College.
- Lead the development, interpretation, revision, and application of Board Policies and Administrative Procedures, especially within the Educational Services series, in conjunction with appropriate staff and faculty in each area.
- Prepare and present reports to the Board of Governors. Participate on a variety of external boards and committees in the community.
- Coordinate the College Calendar and the College Catalog.
- Serve as the Acting President in the President's absence, including as the Acting Chair of EPT, College Council, and other shared governance groups.
- Safeguard the institution and individual program accreditations by aligning institutional and departmental practices with governmental regulations and accreditation agency requirements
- Assure compliance with Board Policies, Administrative Procedures, and all institutional handbooks and guidelines.
- Contribute to the development, interpretation, revision and application of Board Policies and Administrative Procedures.
- In collaboration with Human Resources, coordinate faculty and staff development activities.
- Promote College-wide efforts for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging across the institution.
- Participate in the development and administration of budgets within assigned departments.
- Positively represent the institution to other colleges, service area school districts, the local educational services unit, elected officials, and outside agencies and develop and foster successful relationships with these entities.
- Remain informed regarding current and future community college practices through participation in professional development.
- With proper training, serve in selected processes or roles as requested by the Title IX Coordinator.
- Perform other duties assigned by the President.
Chief Academic Officer (CAO) Functions :
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be :
Education :
Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution is required. Preference may be given to a candidate with an earned doctorate or other terminal degree.
Experience :
Significant higher education leadership experience is required. Preference may be given to a candidate with relevant community college teaching experience.
License or Certificate :
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record that does not exclude the driver from coverage under WNCC's vehicle insurance is required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Alternate Sitting or Standing at Will - The ability to alternate between sitting and standing is present when a worker has the flexibility to choose between sitting or standing as needed when this need cannot be accommodated by scheduled breaks and / or lunch period.
Keyboarding - Entering text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard. Traditional Keyboard refers to a panel of keys used as the primary input device on a computer, typographic machine or 10-Key numeric keypad.
Speaking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing Requirements - The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and / or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes or alarms).
