Umialik insurance Company, a member of the Western National Insurance Group, is seeking a Team Lead Office Support to join our team! Umialik Insurance Group reserves the right to fill this position at a level above or below the level included in this posting.
The individual in this role will have the opportunity to oversee the Office Support team and various administrative tasks for all departments. This role ensures operational efficiency, workflow organization, and excellent internal and external service standards.
What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role?
- Selects, trains, coaches, and develops team members to achieve departmental and individual performance goals.
- Organizes people and work distribution; creates and maintains related metrics for simple to complex processes.
- Oversees mail operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Supports underwriting operations, including policy documentation, endorsements, and renewals.
- Assists with various administrative duties, including office supply management, meeting coordination, and special projects.
- Maintains performance metrics and recommend process improvements to enhance workflow.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and service standards.
- Reviews work with manager to ensure accuracy prior to disbursement.
- Identifies workflow inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve accuracy and productivity.
- Makes fair, consistent decisions based on company policies and operational needs.
- Collaborates with management and other departments to resolve complex issues.
- Maintains strong internal and external business relationships, acting as a key contact for office support functions.
- Communicated effectively with team members, management, and external stakeholders.
- Addresses inquiries and provide solutions to ensure a high standard of customer service.
- Consistently acts according to our customer experience standards, including: responding quickly; maintaining a positive attitude; building rapport; demonstrating empathy; managing the customer’s expectations; using the proper communication channel for the situation; and taking ownership to ensure the customer’s issue is resolved.
What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate?
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching and team development.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Outlines skills that will determine whether or not they will be successful in role (i.e. proven ability to handle multiple projects, strong attention to detail and accuracy).
- Associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other office management software.
What will our ideal candidate have?
- Outlines skills that would make one candidate preferred over another if all other things are equal.
- Familiarity with underwriting processes and policy administration systems is a plus.
- Experience in office operations, underwriting support, or a related administrative role preferred.
Compensation overview
The full hiring range for this role is $68,250 - $93,786. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and/or may be considered for other positions.
