Qualifications
- 5 years of professional accounting experience in oil and gas; additional years of midstream industry experience highly desired.
- Experience in processing gas plant allocations, utilizing plant allocation systems (W Energy or Quorum TIPS preferred).
- Strong analytical and research skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask and work towards tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods and ability to successfully manage changing priorities.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with employees and managers across the organization, as well as with external auditors and producers.
- Perform plant allocations and producer settlements for midstream assets.
- Assures that contract terms are properly reflected in the gas, water, and oil allocation and settlement processes.
- Responsible for imbalances, accounts receivable and account reconciliations.
- Records journal entries for multiple entities and ensures transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed, and supported in accordance with Company policies and controls.
- Provides variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts for management reporting purposes.
- Develops and maintains good working relationships with Commercial Development, Field Operations, Contract Administration, Planning, and Measurement, as well as external auditors and producers.
- Answers and resolves internal and external customer inquiries, including audit inquiries.
- Completes governmental regulatory filings.
- Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of transactions in the accounting systems and general ledger accounts.
- Applies an analytical review to system results to ensure transactions are properly recorded in the accounting systems.
- Supports special projects as needed and assists others as requested by management.
- Prepares operational and financial summaries which capture revenues, cost of product, volumes, pricing, and variance explanations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business administration.
- This position is not eligible for relocation.
- The percentage of travel required for this position is 0-5%.
- This position follows a hybrid schedule working in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and working remote Wednesday and Friday. Monday-Thursday are 9 hours and Fridays are 4 hours.
