Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating sit down forklifts to safely load, unload, and roofing materials within our warehouse. This position offers the ability to grow and operate within a family owned company, all while expanding your knowledge for the roofing industry.
Duties
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, crane equipment, and pallet jacks to load and unload shipments with precision and safety.
- Pick orders accurately using warehouse management systems to fulfill customer requests efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, ensuring proper stacking and storage in designated areas.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation.
- Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment to ensure mechanical integrity and report any maintenance needs.
- Support warehouse management by organizing inventory, managing materials handling tasks, and maintaining cleanliness in work areas.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution or similar logistics environments with a focus on heavy equipment operation.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picking procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 100 frequently and safely
- Experience with shipping & receiving processes including load & unload operations.
