Position Summary:
The Prepared Foods Cook is responsible for the preparation of the department menu items and catering orders on a daily basis, with an emphasis on quality, consistency, and compliance with provided recipes. Prepared Foods Cooks are also responsible for following all safe food handling guidelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

This role may require additional duties within the scope of the department’s operational needs and in alignment with your skills. Job responsibilities may evolve based on business needs, and the Company will work with employees to formalize significant changes, ensure proper training, and review compensation as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in the production of all Prepared Foods menu items according to the schedule and quantity given by the Prepared Foods Management.
- Receive and properly execute catering orders in a timely manner.
- Execute recipes in a consistent manner and according to given recipes.
- Ensure that all items cooked are displayed, covered, dated and rotated according to safe food handling guidelines and production schedule.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production area.
- Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner.
- Store and properly handle raw foods and non-food supplies and materials.
- Clean and sanitize production equipment and work surfaces.
- Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene.
- Provide superior customer service.
- Attend and actively contribute to Department meetings as requested.
- Answer Department phone calls and take messages as necessary.
- Assist customers throughout other departments.
- Follow-up on Customer Requests as designated.
- Empty trash receptacles and perform routine department maintenance as assigned.
- Provide support to other Prepared Foods, Deli, and Bakery Team Members as instructed by Prepared Foods Management.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (regularly) and 80 lbs (occasionally).
- Working conditions include a fast-paced retail environment that involves long intervals of standing, crouching and reaching while moving product. Exposure to extreme cold (coolers and freezers) and heat (cooking equipment) for extended periods of time. Some outdoor work is required. Exposure to seasonal Michigan weather conditions.

- Mathematical Skills: basic.

- Equipment used: broaster; deep fryer; rotisserie oven; convection oven; food processor; slicers/dicers; safety equipment; knives; knife sharpeners; Ishida scale; flat top grill; robot coupe; emulsion blender; char grill ovens; Instant Pot.
