POSITION OVERVIEW
Western Land Services is looking for a Title Landman with 5 years of experience running title in the Greater Permian Basin, including West Texas and New Mexico (specific counties to be disclosed upon hiring). The ideal candidate is comfortable working both independently and within a team-oriented structure, with minimal supervision.
Primary responsibilities include preparing comprehensive runsheets/abstracts covering surface, mineral, royalty, and leasehold estates. Candidates should be familiar with the complexities of the Delaware and Midland Basins, including use of online resources such as the Texas Railroad Commission and the New Mexico Oil Conservation Division (NMOCD). The role also requires the ability to calculate complex mineral, working and net revenue interests and to analyze and interpret detailed leasehold provisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research county records to determine ownership of surface, mineral, royalty, and leasehold estates
Prepare thorough and accurate runsheets/abstracts and submit reports for project manager review
Manage multiple assignments while meeting shifting deadlines and project priorities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years of experience researching mineral and leasehold title in the Permian Basin
Proven ability to calculate complex working interests and net revenue interests
Strong understanding of and ability to analyze detailed leasehold provisions
Ability to meet daily and weekly deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience with Adobe Acrobat
Access to Dropbox for file sharing
Active AAPL membership
