What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpenter 1 position at Western Industrial Resources Corp?
Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare the layout of projects, estimate height, width, length, and other proportions, and select proper material
- Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisor
- Work with materials such as wood, drywall, or sheet metal
- Work with carpentry hand tools and equipment
- Check work along the way to ensure its up to code and specifications
- Work with prefabricated buildings, build stairs, fabricate rebar, fabricate forms, set Simon forms
- Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level
- Replace windows, doors, ceiling tiles along with other general TI work
- Building framing, install metal siding, repair roofing
- Adhere to all rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on site
- Meet or exceed company safety standards
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Minimum Five (5) years’ experience
- Must possess the hand tools required to complete their assigned duties

- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures
- A positive attitude, self-motivated, eagerness to learn and a willingness to work hard every day
- An ability to lead by a positive example and a commitment to working as a team
- Attention and commitment to safety and an ability to follow instructions
- Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record if assigned to a company vehicle
- Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
Working conditions
- Must be able to accommodate customer needs by working flexible hours which may include weekends
- Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, vibrations and a wet and /or humid environment
Physical requirements
- Requires walking, sitting, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, grasping, crouching, stooping reaching and repetitive motions to a significant degree
- Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
