Job Description:
Western Flyer Express has immediate availability for a Safety Coordinator at the Oklahoma City, Ok Office. The ideal candidate will bring transportation industry experience, specifically in safety, a strong attention to detail and working understanding of the driver hours of service (“HOS”) regulations set by the FMCSA (49 CFR §395). While the primary focus will be on HOS auditing, there are other duties that apply to the maintenance of driver files.
Principle Duties:
- Conducts HOS audits using our ELD System
- Notifies Safety & Compliance Mangers of deficiencies and/or inaccuracies.
- Manages Driver Qualification Files: to include, updates, monitors.
- Maintains Computer Safety Files, including Driver files.
- Monitor for Motor Vehicle Inspection Reports (MVRs).
- Monitors HazMat Certifications, including notifications.
- Maintains HOS records.
- Annually purges general and driver archive files.
- Offers Dana Compliance guidance and interpretations.
- Prepares and distributes Weekly & Monthly HOS Violation reports.
- Works Safety related projects and research, as assigned.
Safety Clerk Minimum Qualifications:
- DOT, Safety, or Transportation experience required
- Associates Degree in Transportation Safety or similar field preferred
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Intermediate level of MS Office Suite skills, emphasis on Word and Excel. Access and mainframe experience a plus
