In this critical position, you will be responsible for the transportation of asphalt paving equipment and machinery using a lowboy trailer to various job sites. Responsibilities- Transport heavy equipment and machinery using a lowboy trailer to and from job sites in a safe and efficient manner
- Transport portable asphalt plant pieces from one plant site to another in a safe and efficient manner
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer, ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Secure loads appropriately to prevent damage during transport
- Communicate effectively with project managers and site personnel regarding delivery schedules and requirements
- Adhere to all transportation laws and regulations, and ensure compliance with company policies
- Load and unload equipment as necessary
- Report any maintenance or repair needs for the vehicle in a timely manner.
- Valid Class A CDL license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a lowboy driver or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of heavy equipment transportation
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
- Ability to travel as needed for the position
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions while on the road
- Physical ability to handle equipment loading/unloading and secure heavy loads
