We're hiring Substitute Preschool Assistants for weekday mornings.

Must have firsthand experience (professionally or personally) providing direct care or support for individuals with Special Needs.

This is a great job for college students, substitute teachers, stay-at-home parents, paraprofessionals, or retirees.

Job Description:

• Aid a student with a disability - helping them learn, socialize, play, and do crafts.
• Classes have a Teacher and TA. Your focus is supporting one child 1:1

Responsibilities:

• Assist one student with emotions, behaviors, communication, adapt/simplify, redirection, hand-over-hand.
• Positively and productively occupy them, including them in class participation and playtime, providing breaks.

Where:

• Park District Pre-Schools in Roselle, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, Wheaton, Warrenville.

Hours/Schedule:

• We're flexible.
• Weekday Mornings (Mon - Fri); but you select which days are best for you to Sub.
• Our greatest need is typically Tuesdays/Thursdays from 9am-11am.
• Shifts last 2 to 3 hours, ranging between 8:30a-12p
• Hours are not guaranteed for Subs; but there will likely be eventual opportunities for consistent assignments.
• During the Summer, more hours can be available (possibly up to 30-40 hrs weekly).
• Please commit for the semester's remainder or entire school year.
• Schools do not run on holidays, breaks, cancellations.

Requirements:

• Must perform job duties independently.
• Effectively communicate with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Age 16 , with reliable transportation.
