Western Distributing Company currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer to help take this 90-year-old family company into the future. Starting out as a beer distributor in 1933, Western has grown into a diversified company with 14 business units ranging from Beer and Wine distribution to manufacturing crankshafts and connecting rods to large scale graphics for airplanes. This hands-on position helps provide the budgeting, reporting and financing to fuel current and future growth.
This position reports to the CEO and manages the finance/accounting departments, oversees the IT activities of the company, and advises Senior Staff on financial and business issues.
Requirements
Main tasks and Key Responsibilities
· Day-to-day Supervision of the Accounting Team
· Cash Management & Monitoring
· General Ledger Oversight
· Payroll Monitoring & monthly accrual
· Benefits Negation and Reconciliation
· Lease negation and Tracking
· Month End Process Monitoring of JEs, Accruals, and overall deadlines
· Financial Planning activities
Support the annual budget process
On-going ad hoc analysis and reporting
Provide financial information to the external CPA firm for tax returns.
Preparation of 1099’s
· Manage and schedule:
-Financial Statement Audit
-401k Audit
-Work Comp Audit
-Various Project assignments as needed
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Experience in managing teams
- 7 years’ experience in accounting
- Comfort with engaging in budgeting and analysis work ·
- CMA/CPA or CGMA very helpful ·
- Accounting/Finance degree or similar education required
