The Facilities Maintenance position is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs to the buildings and units owned and leased by Western Dairyland Housing Services. Some of these duties include minor carpentry, painting, cleaning, repairing damages, etc. Facilities Maintenance will also assist Housing staff with moving clients into and out of WDEOC housing.
Essential Functions:
Perform minor repairs that do not require a specialized technician, including:
- fixing and replacing window screens
- detecting and repairing basic electrical and/or plumbing issues
- repairing and patching drywall
Perform routine and preventative maintenance to units, including:
- Responding to and completing housing team maintenance requests
- Ensuring safety systems are functioning properly
- Replacing lightbulbs, installing, and/or maintaining smoke and/or CO2 detectors, replacing furnace filters
- Perform cleaning duties and assist with the upkeep of the facilities
- Assemble and repair furniture
Procurement and Record-Keeping Duties
- Request Purchase Orders
- Purchase supplies and equipment
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions
- Collaborate with external contractors and service providers and solicit bids for specialized repairs or maintenance services
- Maintain records of any work and inspections done
Maintain personal accountability for safety in all tasks
- Understand and comply with agency safety policies and procedures
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for each task
- Actively participate in safety trainings and maintain awareness of potential hazards Immediately report any unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents to the supervisor
- Use tools, equipment, and materials according to manufacturer instructions and established safety protocols
- Maintain situational awareness and always prioritize safe work practices
Other tasks
- Assist housing staff with moving clients
- Perform basic carpentry tasks such as: Install and repair flooring, Enforce decking and ramps, Repair roofing and doors
- Other tasks as assigned

Education and/or Experience:
This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent. Must have two years of experience in maintenance or related field or a technical degree in maintenance or construction preferred but not required. This is a part time, 20-29 hours per week position.

Pay: $17.98 - $22.00 per hour
