The primary location of this position is the Cullowhee, NC campus.
The Transfer and Curriculum team in the Registrar’s Office at Western Carolina University evaluates and articulates transfer credit and exam scores for new and current students. In addition, the team is responsible for quality assurance processes supporting the annual publication of the University catalog. This role primarily involves the physical processing and imaging of transcripts from other institutions; communicating regularly with department heads, program directors, advisors, admissions staff, and students; training student workers; responding to email inquiries and participation in the office phone queue; and contributing to graduation and commencement processes as part of the larger Registrar’s Office staff. Thorough training will be provided, as well as campus-wide professional development opportunities. The successful applicant would be someone who enjoys working as part of a team and who can manage and prioritize their own time and workload; is familiar with working with the fine details of processes and who catches errors and inconsistencies in data; asks questions about anything they don’t understand; and enjoys advocating for students and partnering with other departments to make processes more efficient and helpful.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
- Prior work experience utilizing computer technology and Windows-based programs
- Proficiency in high volume workload and keyboarding/data entry
- Extensive knowledge of and ability to interpret university policies and procedures related to curriculum development and/or transfer credit articulation
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
