The primary location of this position is on the main Cullowhee, NC campus.
This position serves as a working crew leader providing daily hands on supervision of assigned crew in carrying out landscape installation and landscape repair tasks on large and small scale tasks such as plant material installation, placement of drainage and decorative stone, excavation and installation of drainage pipe, operation of tools, equipment and other items used in landscape installation, snow removal, and occasionally landscape maintenance.
The successful candidate should be in good physical condition capable of performing manual labor tasks. General knowledge of grounds maintenance work on a large scale including application of fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides. Skilled in the operation of large grounds maintenance equipment. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written work assignments.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Experience in and the ability to delegate responsibilities to multiple assigned employees to carryout assigned tasks meeting schedules and work standards. Experience in planting, cultivation and care of shrubs, trees, plants and turf of this region. Must have a valid NC driver’s license and the ability to obtain a Class C Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months of employment to maintain employment. Ability to pass a state administrated test to obtain a NC Licensed Pesticide Applicators License within the one year probationary period to maintain employment.
