Position Summary:
- The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Thrift Store.
- This person will exemplify a high degree of integrity, honesty, organization, and customer service skills.
- A large responsibility of this position will be the recruiting, training, scheduling, and managing of volunteers.
- Other important responsibilities include maximizing sales and profitability by increasing donations, maintaining a safe, clean, organized store, and building on community partnerships to increase awareness of WNCSource’s mission of the store.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the thrift store.
- Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers for the thrift store.
- Maintain exemplary customer and community relations by creating and maintaining partnerships with potential customers/donors of the thrift store and providing outstanding customer service.
- Ensures quality merchandise and adequate inventory stock levels are maintained by regular donations of merchandise to the thrift store.
- Observes and stays current on local and regional pricing on comparable items of clothing, housewares, furniture, and antiques offered for sale at the store.
- Build an online social media presence to generate interest in sales and volunteering at the store.
- Establish an online store to generate additional sales of premium items.
- Coordinate the flow of merchandise to the sales floor via sorting, sanitizing, pricing, and restocking as necessary; audit racks for proper sizing and pricing.
- Ensures the thrift store sales are tallied and match Square cash register reports and maintains the correct amount of change in the drawer.
