Controller

Responsibilities: Oversee all financial and accounting operations of the company. Manage high-level accounting functions and supervise day-to-day accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and tax compliance. Maintain and enforce accounting policies and internal controls. Monitor cash flow and funding balances. Oversee payments for debts, bank loans, and major expenditures. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Lead budgeting and forecasting processes. Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to executive leadership regarding capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, and cost management. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations. Coordinate and prepare documentation for internal and external audits. Maintain organized financial records and filing systems. Implement best operational practices and perform additional controller duties as needed.

Qualifications:

 • Retail Experience a plus
 • EXCEPTIONALLY SHARP, PROACTIVE, PUNCTUAL, DETAILED-ORIENTED, AND ORGANIZED
 • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
 • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience
 • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
 • Experience managing full-cycle accounting operations
 • Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
 • “Get things done” attitude
 • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
 • Strong leadership and team management skills
 • Ability to track tasks to completion
 • Able to work under time pressure/deadlines
 • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, Outlook, and Word (Navex experience a plus)
 • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
 • Legal to work in the United States and able to pass background check and screening
 • Professional communication skills and ability to work with diverse personalities 

TASK EXAMPLES (Include but not limited to):
 • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
 • Reconcile bank accounts and oversee general ledger accuracy
 • Review and approve accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
 • Monitor daily cash flow and prepare cash projections
 • Develop and manage annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
 • Analyze financial data and present reports to President
 • Coordinate with external CPA for tax filings and year-end reporting
 • Maintain compliance documentation and prepare for audits
 • Implement and document accounting policies and procedures
 • Oversee payroll processing and tax reporting
 • Help streamline accounting processes and improve efficiencies
 • Supervise accounting staff and provide guidance as needed
