Westerman, Inc., an employee-owned company, is a multiple site manufacturer of production and storage equipment within the oil, gas, and nuclear industries. Our equipment helps optimize well pad design, improve separation efficiency and lower overall equipment spend through high-performance surface separation and processing technology. Our equipment is setting new standards for performance and economics nationwide.
SUMMARY
The Superintendent is responsible for general supervision of all phases of plant operations, including safety, production and shipping. Ensures goals are established for many areas including safety, quality and productivity. Reviews order and production schedules to determine work force requirements and capacity constraints.
Maintains a continuous review of schedules, processes, procedures, standards and other factors and makes recommendations for changes to improve safety, quality, productivity and to reduce costs.
Directs operations through other Managers, Supervisors and Group Leads.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees.
- Ensures that machine schedules & staffing are in line with customer and sales expectations including the use of overtime and hiring new employees
- Establish and track goals in safety, quality and productivity – including internal reworks and downtime
- Assist the Production Supervisors with Evaluations, Promotions, Interactions, Disciplines and Merit Review
- Assist the Safety Manager with maintaining and implementing safe work practices, procedures and policies – using various tools including SFMEAs, Audits, Job Instructions, etc.
- Assist the Quality Department with resolving customer and internal quality issues through corrective action and root cause
- Assist the Sales and Production Schedulers in meeting critical shipments through Project Managers
- Assist the General Manager in establishing and tracking limits in ready weight, WIP and raw material storage
- Assist Production Coordinators and Process Technician(s) in project planning and problem solving
- Work with Engineering & Maintenance to coordinate projects and outages
- Other duties as required and assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and other related programs
- Above Average Organizational Skills and extreme attention to detail
- Above Average Business Acumen and Technical/Process Knowledge
Production Superintendent
- Working knowledge of TS, ISO and OSHA requirements
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization professionally and effectively
- Strong knowledge of company rules, procedures, goals and philosophy
