Special Education Teacher - Remainder if the 25-26 School Year
Job Summary: This position will evaluate students for special education eligibility; provide direct service to the needs of special education students; provide a summary of formal and informal assessments; attend evaluation team meetings; administer a variety of standardized tests as well as observe student(s) to determine current levels of performance.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates students for special education eligibility.
- Provides direct service to the needs of special education students.
- Prepares reports of formal and informal assessments.
- Attends and participates in evaluation team meetings.
- Administers a variety of standardized tests.
- Using a variety of evaluation tools and observation, determines current levels of performance and future potential for improved performance.
- Prepares and maintains documentation for Case Management.
- Participates in the IEP process, FBAs and behavior intervention plans.
- Provides direct service to students both in and out of the classroom.
- Helps students overcome behavioral challenges.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Knowledge of secondary school education.
- Case Management; ability to write IEPs, FBAs and behavior intervention plans.
- Must be able to provide direct service to students both in and out of the classroom.
- Must be able to physically provide classroom control.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
Certification & Licensing:
- Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
