Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented butcher assistant to support our food production team. This role involves assisting with meat preparation, butchering, packaging, customer service and ensuring food safety standards are maintained. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the meat processing and a commitment to delivering high-quality products. Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation tasks including cutting meat, butchering, product productions and cleaning
- Support the packaging of finished food products with attention to quality and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the locker and workstations in compliance with food safety standards
- Handle food products safely, adhering to proper food handling procedures
- Operate equipment such as knives and meat cutting tools and machines with precision and safety
- Support the team during busy periods by efficiently managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, food preparation, or related kitchen roles is preferred NOT required
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques is highly desirable
- Skills in knife handling, meat cutting, and general kitchen procedures are advantageous
- Prior customer service experience in the food industry or restaurant setting is a plus
- Candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment
