Full-time Description
The Senior O &/or P Technician fabricates orthotic and/or prosthetic devices, including highly complex devices, with little to no guidance. This job requires quick and efficient work to handle days with multiple devices due. The Senior O & / or P Technician will also be responsible for repairs and adjustments, time management with their jobs, inventory control in their work area, and operating under the company's Six Sigma 6S policy (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Safety). From time to time this person will assist practitioners with questions pertaining to their patients.

The Senior O & / or P Technician will also be responsible for repairs and adjustments, time management with their jobs, inventory control in their work area, and operating under the company's Six Sigma 6S policy (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Safety). From time to time this person will assist practitioners with questions pertaining to their patients.
- Critically assess work orders for missing or conflicting information
- Thermoforming various plastics using drape forming and/or bubble/blister forming
- Laminations with different materials, resins, and fabrics
- Ensures cosmetics of orthosis/prosthesis, alignment of joints and/or components meet the internal standards as well as industry and safety standards
- CAD/CAM experience and knowledge
- Trade Certificate from an accredited program in O&P - preferred
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent - required
- Able to shape plastic or metal by bending, welding, or cutting
- Ability to use rubber, felt, plastic, leather, wood, fabric, etc. to create necessary devices per specifications
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as but not limited to: hammers, screwdrivers, anvils, welding equipment, drills, saws, sewing machines, routers, oscillating saws, pipe cutters, torque wrenches, sand blasters, belt sanders, vacuum pumps, sonic welder, etc.
- Independent in laminations
- Independent in basic and complex upper extremity prosthetic systems
- Independent in basic and complex lower extremity prosthetic and/or orthotic systems
- Experience with adjustable socket systems
- Experience with myoelectrics and/or microprocessors
- Experience with hip and shoulder disarticulations
- Ability to read diagrams and specifications
