Physician Assistant – Surgical Services HealthAlliance Hospital – Kingston, NY Schedule: 3 Shifts/Week (an average of 1 week of night shifts per month)

Summary:

The Department of Surgery and Surgical Services, in collaboration with the Center for Advanced Practice, is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join our expanding and innovative team. In this position, the APP will work alongside experienced physician and PA colleagues managing a variety of surgical patients, inclusive, but not limited to, Trauma, Vascular, Orthopedics, Urology, Colorectal, and Acute Care Surgery, throughout the course of their hospital stay. • Respond to trauma activations in the Emergency Department and perform lifesaving procedures

Qualifications:

• Candidates must be board certified as a Physician Assistant and possess, or be able to obtain, a New York State PA License.
• Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-year experience, although highly motivated new graduates with interest and abilities in surgery will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
• Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Candidates must have BLS, ACLS, and ATLS

Responsibilities:

• Performing medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations for diverse trauma and acute care surgical patients.
• PAs and NPs with an RNFA are able to 1st Assist in the Operating Room on open and minimally invasive procedures
• Delivering direct patient care as part of a collaborative patient care team.
• Gaining a working competency of procedures inclusive of, but not limited to, central line placement/removal, insertion/removal of chest tubes, and arterial lines.
