WIHD provides a positive working environment with work life balance.Summary of Dental Assistant: Under supervision of a Dentist or lead dental assistant, the dental assistant will provide technical assistance during the dental examination and oral surgical procedures to assure completion of procedures in a timely, safe and organized fashion and to meet the needs of the dentist and the special needs patient. Ideal candidates will be sensitive to the needs of the developmentally disabled. and competent in the technical skills needed for dental hygiene. Dental Assistant Responsibilities:Assists dentist during examination and treatment of patient, which includes oral surgical procedures, consisting of handling instruments, mixing different cement and impression materials;Proper sterilization of dental instruments/operatory; Inventory, Equipment maintenance, and expirations logs;Reviews patient chart, sets up treatment room and assures all necessary supplies are available for dental examination and procedure;Takes dental x-rays (intra oral and panorex); develops and mounts x-rays for review;Seats and prepares patient for examination/ Vitals sign to be taken;Assists in charting and keeps records of dental examinations, oral conditions found and treatments rendered.Dental Assistant Qualifications:Good knowledge of the principles of clinical dental hygiene; familiarity with the principles of nutrition related to dental health; familiarity with the uses of various dental instruments; ability to secure the cooperation of patients; skill in assisting during treatment of patients; skill in handling and manipulating dental instruments and models; physical condition commensurate with the requirements of the position.Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus (a) completion of an approved one-year dental assistant course; or (b) one year experience as a Dental Assistant performing a full range of duties in a dental office; or (c) a satisfactory equivalent combination of training and experience.BenefitsPaid time off (Vacation, Sick, Personal and Holidays)Life Insurance Short and long-term disability 403B employer contribution Why Work at WIHD?Positive, inclusive work environment Flexible schedules for work-life balance Mission-driven organization serving 10,000 individuals annually Equal Opportunity EmployerWIHD is committed to fostering a workplace culture that values respect, fairness, and equal opportunity.
