Westchester Day School is seeking a 4th Grade Judaic Studies & Ivrit teacher to fill a maternity leave from January 2026-March 2026.

Responsibilities include:
Plan and implement lessons and activities that are developmentally and grade appropriate and follows the set curricular goals
Follow the curricular materials and goals laid out by the school
Establish and maintain a high standard for classroom management and student engagement
Promote active participation of all students to ensure a positive and rewarding experience in the classroom
Collaborate with colleagues and administration regarding the social, emotional, and academic development of students
Maintain close partnerships with families, including phone calls and written communications as needed
Use a wide variety of teaching strategies to differentiate instruction to support a range of learners
Remain open to learning and growing personally and professionally
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or in the content area of instruction. Master’s preferred.
Three or more years of teaching experience is strongly preferred.
Fluent Hebrew speaker with knowledge of teaching Hebrew as a second language is necessary for teaching teaching Ivrit
Possess a deep understanding of the Jewish holidays, Tefillah and weekly Parsha
Mastery over lesson planning and the ability to plan and teach towards clear curricular goals set by the school.
Strong character and professional references.
Effective communication skills, positive and collaborative growth mindset.
The annualized salary for this role is $55,000 0 $60,000 ($2291.67- $2500.00 per pay period), depending upon education and experience.
