Position Summary:

Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for setting up and maintaining client financial files and ledger cards.
- Responsible for accurately billing private clients, referring agencies, insurance companies, and other responsible private parties.
- Posts payments and charges to client financial ledger cards.
- Responsible for preparing payment agreements for self-pay and insurance clients
- Receives and processes food stamp applications; picks up and verifies food stamps, weekly at Welfare various Welfare locations
- Coordinates client financial information with Counselors
- Bi-weekly deposit preparation & delivery to bank (handling large amount of cash)
- Preparation of monthly billing reports for distribution to Management Team.
- Process credit card payments for all sites
- Involvement with weekly placement staffing meeting in regards to verification of funding sources and details.
- Communication with insurance companies in order to verify benefits and eligibility for all levels of care
- Coordinates monthly billing invoices with Regional Accountant.
- Assists other WestCare staff as needed in a collaborative manner to promote cooperation and portray a professional image to the community.
- Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation.
- Establish measurable performance and treatment outcomes; oversee data collection and reporting.
- Identify gaps in services and implement corrective action plans.
- Lead continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.
Essential Qualifications:
Certifications/Licenses:
- Must have the ability to obtain CPR & First Aid Certification and an Annual Tuberculosis Test;
- Ability to pass first level and NABS background clearance
- CPC, CPB, or CBCS Preferred
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and two-years of college-level education is preferred.
Experience and Competencies:
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in a manner that is pleasant and professional.
- Two (2) years billing experience
- Prominent understanding and experience with all Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)
- Basic/intermediate understanding of insurance contracts, language, codes and claim submission.
- Attention to detail;
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion;
- Ability to work well in a team environment;
- Superior organizational skills;
- Ability to operate a computer and complete documents in Microsoft Word program formats or the ability to learn.
- Ability to complete work tasks within scheduled work hours.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Requires mobility and physical activity: Having an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in an office, residential, or outdoor environment including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), sitting for extended periods of time, bending, twisting, reaching, balancing, occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds. Use of computer and telephone systems is required which includes coordination of eye and hand, and fine manipulation by the hands (typing, writing, and working with files). Requires the ability to defend oneself and clients in physically abusive situations using approved physical de-escalation techniques.

Talking is required to impart oral information to employees, clients, patients, and the public, and in those activities in which the employee is required to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Requires hearing: Hearing is required to receive and communicate detailed information through oral communication.
- Requires seeing: Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and at distance. This factor is required to complete paperwork for many of the employee’s essential job functions and to observe client behavior and activities in and out of the facility.
- The normal work routine involves no exposure to human blood, body fluids or tissues. However, exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be readily available to every employee.
