We specialize in placing senior-level engineering leaders who support complex, highly regulated environments, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and food and beverage manufacturing facilities.We are partnering with a leading life sciences AEC organization to identify an Electrical Engineer IV who will provide technical leadership and project-level oversight for the design and execution of advanced electrical systems.Job OverviewThe Electrical Engineer IV serves as a senior technical and discipline leader, responsible for overseeing electrical engineering scope across projects of varying sizes and complexities. This role leads the design, coordination, and delivery of power, lighting, grounding, and special electrical systems while managing discipline budgets, schedules, and quality.The successful candidate brings deep technical expertise, experience working in regulated manufacturing environments, and the ability to direct engineering teams through all phases of design and construction.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & DesignLead the design and engineering of electrical systems including:Power distribution and load analysisInterior and exterior lighting systemsGrounding and bonding systemsSpecial systems such as data/telecom, security, and fire alarmRaceway, cable tray, and control systemsPerform and review advanced engineering calculations, including power load, illumination, short-circuit, voltage drop, and coordination studiesDevelop basis-of-design narratives, one-line diagrams, plans, schedules, specifications, and installation detailsEnsure compliance with NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, IEEE, and applicable building codesProject & Team LeadershipLead and manage electrical discipline execution across simple to highly complex projectsDirect workflows of electrical engineers and designers (entry-level through senior)Manage discipline scope, budgets, schedules, and resource planningPartner with Project Managers on proposal development, task identification, man-hour planning, and schedulingServe as a primary technical interface with clients and external partnersCoordination & Construction SupportCoordinate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and manufacturersLead quality control reviews of complex electrical deliverablesSupport construction activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reportingIdentify and resolve non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and field surveysParticipate in commissioning and field support activities as neededMentorship & StandardsMentor and develop less experienced electrical engineers and designersDevelop and deliver internal electrical design and engineering trainingDrive technical consistency, quality, and best practices across projectsSkills & ExperienceRequiredABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Engineering TechnologyMinimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering designProfessional Engineer (PE) license requiredRelevant AEC firm experienceAdvanced experience designing electrical systems for complex facilitiesStrong working knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and building regulationsProven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting GMP or regulated manufacturing environmentsProficiency with Revit and AutoCADAdvanced experience with BIM tools and cross-discipline coordinationExperience conducting and leading field surveys and supporting construction reportingStrong coordination experience with trade partners, vendors, and manufacturersIntermediate experience in troubleshooting electrical and systems issuesWillingness to travel for project execution and professional developmentEEO StatementWestbrook Project Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
