What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Westbrook Animal Hospital?
We are a privately owned veterinary clinic with a small team of friendly, compassionate professionals. We are looking for a motivated, experienced individual with good communication skills to join our team. We primarily see small animals and we have a large patient clientele.
Responsibilities:
- Provides compassionate care to patients and clients
- Prepares and maintains the exam rooms and treatment areas
- Restrains pets
- Explains necessary follow up and homecare instructions
- Assists the Veterinarian in medical, surgical and dental procedures; prepares patients for surgery; monitors patients during surgery and recovery; administers fluids
- Ability to answer phones
- possibly fill in receptionist when needed
- Beginning and end of day cleaning and filling supplies.
Experience drawing blood and experience with digital radiology are preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
